With so many electrical components in today's vehicles, many shops are purchasing diagnostic equipment to help troubleshoot their trucks and trailers and avoid paying the fees that many dealerships charge in order to use their equipment. There are a variety of heavy duty scanners on the market including Noregon's JPRO Heavy Duty Software Fleets 11201-11206, Nexiq's Pro-Link IQ 188001 and OTC's Genisys with Heavy Duty Standard OTC3871HD. All three of these scanners offer users the ability to read and clear fault codes, set parameters, view running live and stored data, and troubleshoot their trucks.
We offer the Noregon JPRO Kit w/ DLA + PLC, with Cummins Software Preloaded! The kit comes with 1 Year of OEM Cummins Insite Lite software loaded & ready to go! (Contact your local Cummins dealer for annual subscription renewals.) We offer kits that include a business class, rugged or semi-rugged laptop computer. The INSITE software provides you with Fault Code information and ability to adjust engine parameter settings, as well as guide you through step-by step Diagnostics. The bundle (Item Number: 63050-CUMMINS) with the semi-rugged laptop is the most popular. You can also add other OEM software to your kit for an additional cost. JPRO allows you to custom outfit the laptop with the exact diagnostic software you need.
The Cummins software can be used in conjunction with the JPRO software and Data Link Connector (DLC) which connects the computer to the vehicle. JPRO Fleet Diagnostics Software allows you to see the general health of the vehicle, all components on the vehicle, any active or inactive faults and the ability to clear them, and key data points all on one screen without the need to open an OEM application. You can also launch any installed troubleshooting manuals or installed OEM applications directly from within JPRO Fleet Diagnostics for deeper diagnostic analysis.
Owning a heavy duty scanner equipped with factory OEM software can save the average shop thousands of dollars every year and is well worth the initial purchase price of the unit. With so many different tools and brands being available, it is important to do your research and find the tool that best suits your needs. Most of the manufacturers offer one year warranties and have great technical support hotlines. We also offer Nexiq's Heavy Duty Fault Code Guide 906008 which helps give you definitions and probable causes for the codes that your diagnostic scanner is picking up.
